Some OS X users have experienced slow starts when recording new messages in Eyejot. The problem appears to be related to the new Leopard release. We experienced the same thing the day we upgraded. Leopard is handling DNS lookups in a different way - a way that introduces delays if your ISPs DNS server isn't properly configured.
One solution, as we demonstrate in the screencast below, is to reconfigure your network DNS settings to manually use servers operated by OpenDNS. Beside making Eyejot operate faster, you may experience faster browsing for all the sites you visit, especially if your ISPs DNS servers aren't as robust and quick as the ones operated by OpenDNS. The OpenDNS site has intsructions for most of the popular platforms and accessories. The one for Leopard is here.
