Eyejot recording durations expanded

We're happy to report that we have increased recording durations for all Eyejot users. Free account users can now record and send messages as long as five (5) minutes while PRO and PRO Plus users can create and send messages as long as fifteen (15) minutes.

Our users have long asked for increased recording durations and we're pleased to now make those upgrades available.

Soon we hope to offer better support for wide format and HD video. Stay tuned!

SMS alerts working!

Since migrating the Eyejot platform into the cloud we've had a few configuration issues that have impacted some of our services. Our SMS alerts were being rejected because of the way were were formatting our outbound messages and the fact that were were being sent through a new email service.

We're happy to report we've rectified the issue. Our SMS alerts are now being properly formatted and delivered.

Soon, though, this feature will become less important as we roll out our mobile apps and employ native notification alerts through the iOS and Android platforms.

Compositing issue resolved

After a minor configuration tweak the compositing issue some users were experiencing has been resolved. We're tracking an issue with profile pictures and hope to have that resolved shortly as well.

Known image compositing issue

We are aware of an image compositing issue that causes single frame image previews of videos to not properly render. These are the images that show a frame from your video and have a "play" arrow composited over top.

We're working on rectifying the issue as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience.

Phase one of our migration is complete

We've completed phase one of our migration. It took several hours longer than aniticpated and we regret any inconvenience this may have caused our users. We'll be monitoring the platform over the next several hours and days to make sure that our service is operating properly. Configuration work initiated

We're performing some configuration work on the site. You may encounter some page errors or notifications that a particular server isn't operational. We're aware of these issues and they're tied to the work we're doing. Thanks for your patience.

Migration work starting

We're initiating our migration work at 4PM PDT (GMT-7). The next few hours will mostly be related to copying over our database from a live replicated server and bringing up all our resources on several servers running inside our cloud vendor's environment.

Eyejot Migration Planned for May 18, 2011

Several months ago we advised our customers that Eyejot would be moving its computing resources into the cloud in order to better meet client demand and support scaling and future growth.

We're now ready to begin that transition and will be doing so today, Wednesday evening May 18, 2011 starting at 6PM PDT (GMT -7). During our maintenance window the site will remain operational. However, some details are important to note:

1. Customers are discouraged from creating and sending new Eyejot messages between 4PM PDT on May 18 and 10PM PDT on May 18
2. Messages sent before 6PM PDT on May 18th may take up to 24 hours to migrate to the new siteWe have been planning for this transition for quite some time.

While we anticipate it being performed successfully, there's always a remote chance something will cause us to suspend the migration.
